Under desk computer mount

After rebuilding my bigass desktop PC into the smaller CoolerMaster NR200 case I didn't want to put a small case like this on my floor and also save some real estate.

I took some leftover pieces of wood and came up with this simple, yet sturdy under desk mount.

Build

Finished product first. Please ignore the "creative" cable management.

I didn't take any more pictures during the build process because I made this in a hurry and well, it really wasn't that complicated.

I cut out 3 pieces of beech wood with the dimensions of 40*30cm (15.75 inches * 11.80 inches). After that I cut out two circles on two pieces of the wood which I marked with a random flower pot I had laying around. The third piece of wood got a rectangular cut out to allow airflow to the bottom of the case (where my GPU fans are drawing in air). Size of the cut out is 20*15cm (7.87 inches * 5.91 inches)

I simply screwed the pieces together. No need to hide the screws since they wouldn't be visible in the finished product anyway. If I remember right I also added some woodglue for good measure. At some time during the project I oiled the wood with some natural wood oil a friend gave me.

Added some metal corner brackets for mounting it under my desk. I quickly realized that these weakass brackets alone won't hold the whole setup in place.

So I drilled some pocket holes which I trust much more. Even bumping into the structure with my chair isn't an issue. You can also see that I was too lazy to properly sand that.

All in all I am very happy with the result. It didn't take long to build and was very cheap 🙏
